teachers from Monmouth Beach, New Jersey, the Rankins call themselves "lay people
ministering to lay people." They have been married for many years and are the
grateful parents of three married sons and an increasing number of grandchildren.
Their ministry is a product of personal struggles, through which they have experienced
God's hand of blessing. They love to share the truths they have learned from God's
Word with others.
On 9/11 the Rankins witnessed the collapse of the World
Trade Center. That event prompted them to begin their latest writing project entitled
Making Sense of Evil. This book is now available at www.winepressbooks.com Peg
is an active lay person in her own right, speaking for conventions, retreats,
and banquets - a ministry which has taken her not only throughout the United States
but to several other countries as well. She is the author of six books, including
the best-selling Yet Will I Trust Him (70,000 copies in print). "People today
are looking everywhere for answers," Peg says, "and coming up short. They don't
realize we are essentially spiritual beings. So it's possible to fill physical,
emotional, intellectual, and psychological voids and still experience emptiness.
Why not turn to the Bible," she asks, "and read about the One who meets EVERY
need?" Lee has retired from his position as vice-president, National Sales
Manager, for Siemens Medical Systems, the US based subsidiary of Siemens AG, the
world's largest manufacturer of medical equipment. Starting as a straight commission
sales representative, he marvels at the hand of God in his career. Lee says his
former contact with the business world not only challenges him to "practice what
he preaches" but also gives him rapport with those in his audiences who are struggling
to set priorities in a dog-eat-dog environment. He acts as manager of the couples'
outreach, called Rankin File Ministries. It has been said, "As a team,
Peg and Lee are "dynamite." Indeed, when these two individuals work together,
a very special chemistry develops, producing unexpected and often humorous results.
("Do you think we plan these bloopers?") As they enjoy each other, it is evident
they are also enjoying their Sovereign Lord, whom they seek to honor first, last,
and always. |
